The Designing Out Crime research centre (DOC) is seeking expressions of interest from students considering enrolling in a research degree at UTS.
The Designing Out Crime research centre (DOC) is a practice led, socially responsive research centre within the DAB. It works with public and private companies and institutions to reduce crime through design intervention.
DOC's current research briefs involve:
- Design for the improvement of public housing estates with a strength-based community development approach
- Design that supports Sydney’s late night economies and contributes to improving the vibrancy and safety of Sydney’s night life
- Design for the development of future technologies for crime prevention
The opportunity also exists for successful applicants to potentially undertake casual paid work as a research assistant with our consultancy work, or as a tutor in our popular winter school program.
