Workshop: Understanding health economics in cancer research
As part of its capacity building services, the Cancer Research Economics Support Team (CREST) is pleased to announce it will be holding a workshop at the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation, UTS
This workshop is for those working or interested in cancer research who may encounter health economics in research papers or policy documents, or who would like to consider how health economics may be incorporated into their own practice or research.
Workshop Program
The workshop will use a series of workshop-style seminars and exercises to provide theory and
practical examples to cover:
- An introduction to health economics and economic evaluation in research
- Study design for economic evaluation in oncology research
- Identifying, valuing and measuring outcomes
- Identifying, valuing and measuring costs
- Interpretation of results of economic evaluations
Participants at the workshop will receive a USB with course notes, including copies of the slide spresented on the day, references used as examples throughout the workshop, and additional useful readings.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will need to arrange their own travel to and from the workshop. CREST is unable to provide travel assistance for this workshop
