UTS Built Environment's Dr. Peter Smith received the Australasian Innovation in Housing Research Award at the joint fourth Australasian Housing Researchers Conference & 7th Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research Conference held in August.

Peter’s paper on a new model for housing affordability measurement, was judged the most innovative and original paper of the 105 submissions presented at the conference.

The award criteria included new theory that will cast valuable light on practice, innovative linkage of theory and practice, innovation in housing research methods, a new area for housing research and innovative comparison/analysis.
