Fashion and Art, edited by Associate Professor Vicki Karaminas and Dr Adam Geczy (Sydney College of the Arts) has just been released by Berg publishers (UK). The publication contains original and new research by some of the world’s foremost scholars in the fields of fashion and art. The publication explores the fashion-art nexus from aesthetics and performance to digital and print media. Fashion and Art will be available in Australia in early March.
Karaminas has also completed a new monograph, Queer Style (Berg, UK) that offers an insight into queer fashionability by addressing the role that clothing has played in historical and contemporary lifestyles. From a fashion studies perspective, it examines the function of subcultural dress within queer communities and the mannerisms and messages that are used as signifiers of identity. Queer Style will be available in January 2013.
