The National Maritime Museum Sydney has purchased an edition of Kate Sweetapple’s Map of Sydney: Fish Surnames (2010). The work is currently on display in the exhibition “Fish in Australian Art”, alongside work by First Fleet artists, William Buelow Gould, Conrad Martens, and modern and contemporary artists Rupert Bunny, Margaret Olley, William Dobell, Arthur Boyd, Yvonne Koolmatrie, John Olsen, John Brack, Michael Leunig, Craig Walsh and many more. This unique exhibition revealing how fish are an enduring inspiration for artists is on show from 5 April to 1 October 2012.
