Biography
Chivonne Algeo is a specialist in project management, project governance, knowledge management and reflective practice and has more than 20 years experience in delivering a variety of projects for major financial, insurance, and health organisations. She also helps government institutions develop their project management capability.

Chivonne’s teaching covers a range of postgraduate project management subjects and her research is focused on how project managers in Australia exchange knowledge. Additional research is underway into the professionalization of project management; the synergy and tension between project and change management; continuing professional development in the built environment, and a collaborative study with industry into project management insights.

Chivonne is closely associated with the Project Management Institute (PMI); is a Fellow and past Board Director of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), and is currently a member of the AIPM Council of Fellows and the Knowledge and Research Council. Her role as Chair of the Women’s Housing Association Ltd requires strategic insight and leadership to manage over $150million of affordable housing provided to independent women in the greater Sydney region.

Chivonne established the AIPM review into the Australian National Competency Standards and has also been involved with the ISO 21500 Guide to Project Management Standards Australia Committee, representing UTS on a working group. She also led the inaugural Australian Project Management Researcher's Forum.

Chivonne is passionate about delivering current, research-inspired and thought-provoking material for students. “The information must be purposeful and based on valid research to provide a robust platform to enhance an individual's development. The flow-on effect to society by delivering appropriate benefits through the effective management of projects is the ideal outcome”.
