Biography
Dr Joanne Jakovich is an interactive architect and researcher specialising in interactive spaces spanning art, architecture and urbanism. Her work has been exhibited in Japan, Australia, Taiwan and The Netherlands, both in architectural and artistic contexts, including the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, and the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. She is the producer of numerous international projects integrating urbanism, architecture and interactive art, including the CitySwitch Japan-Australia Urbanism Exchange and the Urban Islands Project on Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour.
In 2010 Joanne completed a PhD on how humans adapt when they engage with systems in interactive spaces, while her teaching covers architectural design, urban studies, interaction design, physical computing and software scripting.
