The 2012 CAL Non–Fiction Writer-in-Residence
In 2012 a prominent Australian writer will be selected nationally as the first CAL Non-Fiction Writer-In Residence. The selected writer will be paid $50,000 per annum from February to December and be attached to the Creative Practices Area in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, UTS.
The 2012 CAL Non-Fiction Writer-In Residence will promote the study, recognition and wider appreciation of high-quality non-fiction in this country. This unique and exciting residency will provide a non-fiction author with a creative environment in which to complete a major work and also connect with students and staff from the UTS writing porgram.
Essential criteria
- Publication of at least two significant works of non-fiction
- A commitment to, and a major track record in, promoting Australian writing nationally and internationally
The CAL Chair in Australian Poetry 2012-2014
The CAL Chair in Australian Poetry is a part-time appointment (1 day a week) over 3 years, 2012-2014, offered to one of Australia’s outstanding poets. The CAL Chair in Australian Poetry will give 2 lectures annually to alumni, students and the general public. The CAL Chair in Australian Poetry will mentor the City of Sydney Poet and collaborate with existing CAL partners as well as promote the study, recognition and enjoyment of Australian poetry nationally and internationally.
