  1. Wilhelm, who is charged with the manslaughter of Diane Brimble, arrived in court today to face trial. Brimble died on the P&O Ship cruise in 2002, allegedly of drug overdose. Wilhelm is pleading not guilty to the charges. The prosecution continues.

  2. Disputes in Castle Hill continue as discussion rages over the planned building of a childcare centre on a heritage-listed 150 year old mansion house. It is clear the development plans will not go ahead without a fight from the local residents and community.

  3. Water usage and future plans for water conservations as climate change becomes an agenda related to water. Strategies and plans must be implemented soon. Department of Water has called for a Water Accounting System to be implemented nationally.

  4. The National Drowning report released today reinforced the message of preventable deaths of due to drowning. For the first time in 6 years, the number of deaths due to drowning has exceeded 300. This continues the stressing of the need for increased water safety education.

  5. The Climate Network Action Australia met today to discuss different ways and strategies Australia could cut carbon emissions to UN set standards. The biggest problem Climate Network Action Australia faces are the financial implications this may have.

  6. Leaders of Australia's higher education sector met today to discuss strategies and changes in motion with Kevin Rudd's Education revolution. They are focusing on how assessment strategies will help attract prospective students. It is hoped the changes will enhance student learning and employability.

  7. In light of the recent bushfires, questions have been raised about whether increasingly harmful human activity is the cause of the more severe bushfires that we are experiencing now.

  8. National Marriage Week is used to educate people on the importance of marriage and the values of married life. According to the Bureau of Statistics, people are getting married at a later age compared to 20 years ago, with many young adults either wanting a career or too busy in their lives.
