YOUR SAY: BLOCK A, BUILDING 5

Block A Building 5 has been completely refurbished, creating new flexible environments, informal learning spaces, group collaboration and social hubs.

But what do UTS students make of it? We get your thoughts on the design.

Mitchell New
Student, Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Law

“Great space, I will definitely use this. It's a much nicer area then other places around the Uni. Love the green comfy chairs and the TV’s!”

 Vitou Seng
Student, Bachelor of Business

“It’s a great space and I will definitely be making the most of it. I have already used it a few times. I do have a few suggestions. It would be great if the larger group tables had power cables for the laptops. I also wish the chairs underneath the LCD television screens would provide more back support. Unfortunately the lights underneath this area only reach half of the desks, which make it tough to complete our work and reading. But overall, it’s a really positive space that will most certainly be used.”

 Lisa Nguyen
Student, Bachelor of Medical Science / Bachelor of Business

“I really, really like this area. It is nice and modern and spacious, and completely different to the other areas at UTS. The layout is great as it is divided into different sections but it all remains coordinated at the same time. I will definitely use the space and I couldn’t offer any improvements.”

 Brian Tran
Student, Bachelor of Medical Science / Bachelor of Business

“I only found this space today and I love it. I haven’t had a good chance to look around at it all yet, but I really like it so far. It has a really nice and relaxed vibe and UTS definitely needed more spaces like this. It is much better than the library as it is far more relaxing. It’s also a bonus that green is my favourite colour, and it looks really cool.”

 Lena Chen
Student, Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Arts in International Studies

“It is a pretty good space and there aren’t too many people so far which is great. It is more like a chill out space than a study area, so it really depends on what you want to use it for. It is convenient and close to everything, and would be good for social gatherings and lunch breaks. However I would personally prefer a more quiet study area away from the group areas.”
