Down the drain - Is this the Future of our Rivers?

This forum is about how and why we must protect our rivers, with a particular focus on threat of unnecessary water infrastructure a proposed dam poses to the internationally significant Mary River in South East Queensland.

Steve Posselt, Kayak4earth
Water Engineer of 37 years, former president AWA Qld Branch
Still drying out from his 1000 km kayak from Brisbane to Sydney, Steve will share his first hand experience of the state of our rivers.

Professor Stuart White, Institute for Sustainable Futures
A leading expert in sustainable water management, Stuart will explain the sustainable alternatives to provide water security to our cities.

Professor Jean Joss, Macquarie University
Jean has spent much of her life researching Lungfish. She will explain the importance of this living fossil and the threat the proposed dam poses to them.

Glenda Pickersgill, Vice President, Save the Mary River Coordinating Group. Glenda will discuss the evolution of the campaign to save the Mary since April 2006.
