Rethinking Australia's mineral futures: In a world with growing resource demands and water and carbon constraints, Australia must rethink how it can deliver long term benefit from its mineral resources

International research projects brokered at Efficient09: More than 300 international professionals seeking solutions to water supply stresses caused by increasing global population and climate change attended the Efficient2009 conference in Sydney last month.

Destination Copenhagen: The Institute has been involved in several projects in the lead up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15 talks) in Copenhagen next month.

Dams, desalination or water efficiency: The recent decision by Minister Peter Garrett to reject, for environmental reasons, the proposal to dam the Mary River in South East Queensland (SEQ) at Traveston Crossing has seen a large number of journalists approaching the Institute this month for independent and reliable information about sustainable urban water management in the SEQ region.
