Biography

Anna joined the Institute after working on a range of independent contracts focussing on climate change, disaster risk management and development in the Pacific with clients ranging from the development and university sector, NGOs and Pacific intergovernmental organisations. Her interest in the Pacific and international development began whilst living in Samoa for a year, working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Disaster Management and Climate Change Advisor. In this role, she assisted in strengthening community based climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction across the Pacific region. Upon returning to Australia, Anna worked as a Research Associate with the University of New South Wales on an AusAID funded project that investigated how to better integrate community based disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Pacific. This project included extensive in-country consultations and the development and facilitation of multi-stakeholder workshops. Anna has also worked in the private sector and as Climate Research Analyst for Insurance Australia Group (IAG) where she investigated new methods of insurance pricing to better incorporate current and future climate risk.
