Biography

Leah Mason comes to the Institute with a background in community and environmental advocacy focussing on sustainable transport as a means of addressing key environmental, social and economic goals. Her studies in history and philosophy of science and Australian studies inform her interest in participatory processes for public decision-making, and governance frameworks.

Leah has developed public transport policy for EcoTransit Sydney, and provided advice on transport issues to members of the Crossbench in the NSW Upper House, as well as several local government bodies. Advocacy and campaign work in other areas, including nuclear technology, reproductive rights, mental health services and financial systems have been undertaken for a variety of non-government and community-based organisations.
