QCIS Seminar: A Framework for Online Service Advertising Information Discovery, Search, and Ranking - Dr Hai Dong, Curtin University of Technology, Australia

Presenter: Dr Hai Dong, Curtin University of Technology, Australia (invited by Prof Jie Lu)

Abstract: It is clearly recognised that information technology has a profound effect on the conduct of business, and the Internet has become the largest marketplace in the world. Online advertising has become increasingly popular with SMEs from service industries, and thousands of service advertisements are published on the Internet every day. However, due to the ubiquitous, heterogeneous, ambiguous, dynamic, and untrustworthy nature of online service advertising information, service consumers may find it difficult to quickly and precisely retrieve trustworthy service advertising information. This talk will present a framework enabling service for consumers to discover, search, and rank online service advertising information, along with domain-focused applications of the techniques that take into account the nature of the information.
