UTS:Law Forum: Participative and Restorative Practice in Schools
About the Forum:
A research project was recently carried out by UTS:Law academics on Student Participative and Restorative Practice in Schools.
For the completion of the research project, UTS:Law is hosting a forum on Thursday 12 July. The forum is the final stage of this research project undertaken with selected schools, which incorporate student participative and restorative practice in their school communities. The research project included observations and interviews with students, teachers and parents.
The aim of this forum is in part to discuss the research but primarily to provide a forum for discussion between the research participants, educators, and others with an interest in restorative practices in education. The forum will be led by a panel with particular experience in the implementation of a variety of these practices in schools. This will be followed by an open discussion.
Panel members include:
Lyn Doppler: Immediate Past Principal, Rozelle Public School
Geoffrey Fouracre: Principal, Macquarie Anglican Grammar School, Dubbo
Dorothy Hoddinott AO: Principal, Holroyd High School, Greystanes
Terry O’Connell: Australian Director, Real Justice
