If English is not your first language, has studying in English been a challenge?
Studying in English was never a challenge for me as English is the second language in India and I have learned this language like my first language, Hindi, since my childhood.
Why did you choose Australia/Sydney?
Australia is considered to be the favourite country to study by the International students in terms of the flexibility it provides in the eligibility criteria for the different courses and also the competency with which the international values and standards are maintained when delivering promised facilities to the students.
Why did you choose UTS?
To get international exposure in the field I want to pursue as a career. Getting international exposure always adds some experience and I found UTS to be an appropriate platform to make me experienced and well versed with my course.
What do you like about the teaching in your faculty?
I like the dedication and sincerity of the teaching faculty towards the International students. They answer promptly to every question asked and also being a great help and support in making assignments. Often, the options are given regarding the assignment topics for the ease of international students. Lecturers and Professors understand the difficulties that an international student can face and try to give more options so as to make understand students the subject and cope up well.
What do you like about the campus/city?
I like the location of the campus, i.e. in the City. Its just 5 minutes walking distance from the railway station or the buses. It’s very easily accessible and the tall Tower Building separates itself from the crowd of other tall buildings to get noticed. I like the UTS library as its having the wide variety of books and the ease with which the books can be borrowed and returned. I even liked the concept of separate buildings for separate courses as it make students to get more accustomed and focussed on their subjects.
Have you found it easy to find study/language support (if you needed it)?
I never needed the Language support, but I have heard from fellow friends that it’s beneficial to learn English from UTS INSEARCH first before going for the desired course.
Have you found it easy to make friends?
Making friends never seemed to be an issue for me as I am a person who easily gets mixed up with people and on the spree for getting more knowledge. I have successfully made few friends from Australia, China, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.
Where do you live and how did you find accommodation?
I am living in Westmead, one of the suburbs in Sydney and I like the place for 4 major reasons. It’s not far from City, no transport difficulties and convenient to live as it’s reasonably cheap than the City and also with less noise pollution. I am living with friends who also study the same course in UTS. So, living with them is being productive and easy going.
What would you say to a prospective international student about coming here?
For the prospective International students I would just like to say that Australia is a wonderful platform to make a career as its open with so many opportunities. So, just select the course that you think is right for your career and then follow the path laid before you. UTS is considered to be the best university in Australia for management courses and teaching. It’s worthwhile to grab a course in UTS and make a good career for yourself. After doing a course, many doors will get opened. Either you can go back to your respective country and take a good job or international exposure will help you to take a job elsewhere in the world as the courses from UTS are recognised and acceptable worldwide. So, all the best for your career.
