2009 International Colloquium on Data Sciences, Knowledge Discovery and Business Intelligence

The dates of the Colloquium will be 7 – 11 July, 2009. It will be held at the City Campus of the University of Technology, Sydney. A tentative program follows:

Session I: Business Solutions (Tues 7 July)

As shown in the Tentative Program, the Colloquium will consist of five sessions: Fundamentals, Advancements, Business Solutions, Enterprise Applications and Workshop. These sessions will be lectured by well-known researchers, practitioners and commercial solution providers. The Chair, Prof Philip S Yu, from the University of Illinois at Chicago, will also conduct some of the lectures. Lecturers also include active academic researchers and industry practitioners.

Based on your research interests and our research collaboration on data sciences, knowledge discovery and business intelligence, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend this Colloquium and Workshop. By attending this Colloquium, and the relevant discussions with the Data Sciences and Knowledge Discovery Lab at the UTS Priority Centre for Quantum Computation and Intelligent Systems, you will have the opportunity to extend collaboration between the two groups, and to interact with many other researchers, practitioners and industry partners. Your involvement by attending this colloquium will contribute significantly to the promotion of research, development and applications for data science, knowledge discovery and business intelligence.

Workshop attendees should submit an abstract of their paper, including author(s) affiliation to Dr Xinhua Zhu (see below for contact details), and prepare a 20-minute presentation. The due date for abstract submission is 20 June 2009. Authors of selected abstracts from those submitted will be invited to develop their abstract into a paper for inclusion in a special issue on data science, knowledge discovery and business intelligence in the International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining.
