PhD students Pramod Parajuli and Jinjiu Li have been awarded 2012-2013 IBM PhD Fellowships

The Advanced Analytics Institute's PhD student, Jinjiu Li, and QCIS' Pramod Parajuli have been awarded 2012-2013 IBM PhD Fellowships. These prestigious and highly competitive Fellowships are awarded worldwide to exceptional PhD students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines.

Jinjiu Li's topic is "Business Analytics". He is supervised by Professor Longbing Cao,

Pramod Parajuli's topic is "Smarter Planet". He is supervised by Professor Mary-Anne Williams.

Jinjiu and Pramod's were the only two successful applications in Australia - both from FEIT at UTS. FEIT now boasts four IBM PhD Fellowships since 2010, and each year QCIS/AAI have been awarded the only ones in Australia. This is an excellent result for FEIT and UTS.

But most importantly, it represents a fantastic opportunity for our PhD students. Well done to Jinjiu and Pramod - we wish you every success.
