Safety and Wellbeing August

August is Safety and Wellbeing Month

The Safety and Wellbeing program at UTS incorporates compliance and a very important component on wellbeing.  You may ask why?  Well, we want UTS to be a great place to work and we need to retain and engage our valuable staff.  We know that staff have responsibilities and lives outside work and that they need support to be able to manage the multiple demands on their time and energy.

During August 2010, the Safety & Wellbeing branch within the Human Resources Unit will be coordinating a number of activities and events to help you boost your safety and wellbeing.

This year sessions for parents managing HSC Stress, Learner Dads and Retiring Well.  One thing staff and students have in common is financial stress so we have included an on-line financial literacy program available for all.  Finally, as research consistently demonstrates, if you are physically fit you are more resilient.  So, there are sessions on taking care of your back, the very popular sleep workshop, the annual 10,000 step challenge and, new this year, a session on vocal health for public speakers.
