Bachelor of Biomedical Science

I've always loved Biomedical Science and wanted to learn more about it. The Biomedical Science degree at UTS is unique and offers the perfect amount of flexibility within my aspired area of interest. I was able to study various electives, which also allowed me to figure out exactly what field I wanted to pursue.
Also, the Biomedical Science degree at UTS is accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) which allows graduates to practice in medical laboratories overseas, which immediately made us more employable.
Another bonus is the lively and fantastic atmosphere within the UTS: Science's building, where there are lots of cosy comfy chill-out areas for students. I spent most of my time in these areas interacting with students and staff. The like-minded people you meet are exceptional. The lecturers are enthusiastic about their field, extremely approachable and will always gladly answer and questions you may have – which makes it a great place!
In my three years of Biomedical Science studies, I’ve discovered the field of immune-parasitology, which combines my interest in both immunology and parasitology. I plan to pursue an Honours year and then a PhD at UTS Science in this area of immune-parasitology or microbiology.
