Rachel Robbins
PhD, Marine Biology

Chief Scientist, Fox Shark Research Foundation
What I do:
I have been undertaking research on great white sharks in South Australia for 10 years and have been involved in a number of projects including population dynamics, behavioural studies, photographic identification, Shark Shield electric repellent research, and satellite tracking and tagging.
I am currently the lead investigator on projects examining size segregation of white sharks, laser photogrammetry, wound healing, and acoustic telemetry of white sharks in Australian waters.
Best aspect of the job
the extensive field based experience I get, being able to be out in the field and in the water with white sharks on a regular basis.
